I've heard that that central column is to hang non-conforming, non-time share, non-tourisma gringos from (at least that is what local timeshare bookers like JR say. But some people say they are just joking.

Today there were guys fishing off of the pier. And then the city jefes came and took photo ops. It is progressing enough that the jefes are starting to take credit for it.

I looked at it yesterday, and it is not all that different looking at this stage. I figure the next big photo op will be when they put up the rails on the sides. They have the metal pieces ready to install on the pier and it looks like that will be the next step.
