Thanks, I love spreading the word about what could be happy stuff to more people.....it's really hard to tell people about it.....doctors won't tell you.... HIFU can't advertise as they aren't FDA approved.....the FDA won't approve it as it will cause the colapse of the cancer industry....the FDA is staffed by surgeons and radiologists....the drug industry is busy fighting them too, as no drugs are needed with HIFU....the only way to tell people is like this.....if I could stop people on the street and tell them - then I would -- but it would be awkward!

Where I live I've written several letters to the editor....and about 9 guys have gone in for treatment....everyone has good results, and they also tell people....and they come back loving PV

The Cleveland Clinic finally speaks up about HIFU....but only at their Canadian hospital: http://www.hifu.ca/hifu_focal_therapy.htm

And here is a write up from the Pine Street Foundation, a non-profit which is devoted to prostate cancer, they mention HIFU is used for other cancers: http://www.pinestreetfoundation.org/ave ... ifu16.html and they say, "In contrast to surgery, HIFU does not increase the potential risk of metastasis".

And here's a story in the Daily Telegraph in the UK : http://www.telegraph.co.uk/health/men_s ... tists.html

Still.....the FDA will only approve it when enough of us know about it !

The makers of HIFU equipment do not hire anyone to advertise....I just try to spread the info because I want to do something good in this world...

I still don't understand how trying to cook cells with high intensity sound instead of xrays or removing them with surgery is any better. Xrays can be focused just as easily (probably better because the technology is older). Surgery is very exact, This new "miracle cure" is just the same old shit in a new box.

Ultrasound is very useful (it is used quite a bit in conventional medicine) but can also be very damaging in the levels that would be effective for killing cells.

The references cited are certainly not all impartial and objective.

No one likes to get cancer and everyone is hoping for a miracle cure. Cons will and always have milked this situation.

Well freeeye, thanks for asking....

Surgery can make cancer spread - if the knife nicks a cancer cell and then touches some place else. Prostate surgery also holds a 90% chance of wearing diapers, 50% chance of ED, and a small chance of not being able to control your bowel movements. We know a couple guys who have big problems, one never leaves the house, one has to stop suddenly wherever he has to go #2, and one has an artifical spincter, he has a switch to go #1. He had numerous surgeries. Doctors really don't elaborate on what can happen, how painful surgery and recovery is, ours told us my husband only had weeks to get on the table. Then our HIFU doctor told us he actually had 15 years to get treatment as he had the smallest cancer & prostate cancer is the slowest growing.

It's a special high frequency ultrasound machine. Utlrasound will not go through hard tissue, cancer tumor is hard tissue, it hits it and cooks it and it is turned into ash, however, it goes through soft watery tissue without any harm. It can't cook lung cancer because of the air in the lungs, the sound waves get lost in the air, and it has trouble with bones being in the way, so they have to manuever around to not hit a bone....like they explained in the Swiss article. Xray doesn't have the capability to stop, it sees through all tissue and doesn't stop.

I don't know all the technicals, but I am so happy that my husband no longer has cancer and he just walked away from the 2 hour procedure without any troubles. I just wish it was available for all, it would be a better world.

How could they get more inpartial? Cleveland Clinic has no financial motive, they can treat you using any treatment. The Daily Telegraph is just a newspaper doing an interview with doctors, doctors who are surgeons, they make more money with surgery....but they see benefits of HIFU. And The Pine Street Foundation covers all prostate cancer treatments, they just want the truth, it's a charity, a good one. Me thinks it's you who is prejudged.

http://www.mdanderson.org/patient-and-c ... index.html

"High Intensity Focused Ultrasound for Prostate Cancer
Also known as HIFU, this procedure is used to treat prostate cancer. A special probe uses high-frequency ultrasound to produce heat that kills cancerous tumors. The probe is inserted into the rectum and guided to the proper position using computer imaging. High intensity focused ultrasound can either treat the entire prostate ("full" HIFU) or just certain portions of the prostate ("focused" HIFU). The entire procedure takes from 1-4 hours.

HIFU has been used in Europe, particularly the United Kingdom, to treat prostate cancer for about 10 years. However, it is not currently approved by the Food & Drug Administration for use in the United States. MD Anderson urologists have been treating patients with HIFU as part of clinical trials to test this treatment method. Because the treatment is relatively new, available data on its effectiveness is still maturing. "

Debra found this write up at MD Anderson. I wonder how long ago they posted it. But still...I won't rest until they acknowledge that HIFU can be used for other cancers.....I am going to their lecture again in a few weeks....Actually HIFU has been in use in Europe for more than 20 years, I have a friend who had it 13 years ago in Belgium. He's cancer free, no problems at all.

We just had my husband tested for cancer again, 4 years after his treatment at San Javier, and he is still cancer free. I get so nervous going in for the test.....I am sooo happy now.

Just annoys me to no end that the USA won't approve the treatment he had, as it is pain free and no side effects, no down time at all. But it would be so cheap...and in Ameica we are into cash, buckets of it.

In Europe they are now using HIFU (high intensity focused ultrasound) for Parkinson's and to ease the pain when cancer metastasizes, plus breast, liver, pancreatic, etc. etc.

Yes, it's my bandwagon, to tell anyone who will listen, and it seems I'm getting good karma from telling people, as his tests keep coming back great! Even though this is in the business section ~ It's certainly not my business.!! I'm just a happy wife spreading some good news, if you know anyone with prostate cancer ~ we'd love to meet him and tell him our story, let him decide., because his doctor won't (can't) tell him about HIFU.

We have several friends who have had the same treatment at San Javieer and all of them are still cancer free and no one had any bad side effects.
