I havent read this thread but will later when I can look at a real computer.

The other day I was talking with a guy that is in the public eye, he gives interviews and is contacted by reporters on a regular basis.
I let him know that a news station was trying to reach him so we got into the reason why they wanted to talk to him

They wanted to know his thoughts on someone. He told me that he was going to tell the reporter that "they" were socially retarded. Completely inept ..... Blah blah blah

I said, "you might wanna re-think that. A lot of people have issues with that word."
He said, "that is the only word that describes these assholes."

I said, I understand but some people will focus more on the fact that you said retarded than your point.

He said, the people that I want to understand, will understand!"

Thats all I have to say. I'm gonna read the thread because I like a good debate and I always learn something.

made me think of this quote by Dolly Parton.

I'm not offended by all the dumb blonde jokes because I know I'm not dumb... and I also know that I'm not blonde.
How can they say my life is not a success? Have I not for more than sixty years got enough to eat and escaped being eaten?

Don't expect to learn anything from this. It's the same ol', same ol'.

Some people will always get offended by some words. Or thoughts.

It has always been this way and it will always be this way. Nothing new.

O.K. probably been mentioned earlier, but this Maui boy thinks it should be called Rick's Cafe.

You know how kids today are named for soap opera stars or recording artists? I was named after the character Rick in the movie Casa Blanca. My mom loved Humphrey Bogart. Fortunately, she didn't name me Humphrey.

We will " round up the usual suspects" and come check it out in a few weeks.

See you soon, Brian. We may even be open by the time you get here. lol

Tomorrow we are supposed to get our front door installed. That's pretty major. We've been going for over 2 weeks without one, ever since we had the front wall torn out to expand the balcony.

Our money reserves are on their way and we should be able to fix up the place the way we want when they get here. The permits are working their way through the halls of the assorted offices of the gov.

Turning part of your house into a restaurant/bar is not a project for the sane. Sometimes even I think I'm crazy to be doing this.
