A few bucks from Grandma

Postby jrojeff » Tue Sep 25, 2012 9:56 pm

So your step grandma sends you a check every b-day.Your over 40 . She has lost her man and blown thru the money. Do you send the money to g-ma in a card, maybe call her? say I love ya but keep the money for you grandma. or send her a card with the some saying. - or cash it. I am not that way sending it back to gma ,let her spend it. but I will say thank you and love ya for thinking about me. Thats the way I am. Why did I post this, this is my facebook.. Your true friends are here.

It makes HER feel good doing it. Enjoy it, and let her.

On the other hand, do something good for her as often as you can; even if you use her gifts to you to do it!

Sometimes that is a tough call, because the relative really wants to do it and it means a lot to them to give you something but they don't know what to get.

Unless my relative is really hurting for money, I usually take it and think what I can do to spend time with them.

As a "Grandma" I agree with Sarah, I am very sure she would just love to just get a thank you phone call from her "grandson" and a little chat. Obviously she has been thinking about you and loves you and just wants you to know that.
If she doesnt live too far away a little drop in visit accompanied by a big hug would make her day Jeff! I know if it was me it would keep me :) every time I remembered it. Life is short, memories and feelings last forever. BTW did we miss your BD?

I would give her a gift worth many times what she gave you, on her birthday or special day. Maybe a certificate from a local food store or other store where she shops. Or cash, of course. Or take her someplace she has never been for a special treat.
