The FM3 (or whatever it is called now) visa is easy. Finding a good shipping company is a bit more difficult but you will receive some good recommendations here. I can't recommend anyone because we hauled everything down ourselves.

The month at a time trial is good. If you find that you want to stay longer each time, that is a good sign.

I know people in Chapala area who have used the following movers, and listing them in order of satisfaction: GOOGLE
SEYMI
STROM WHITE MOVERS
LAKE CHAPALA MOVERS
They are doing more and more moving in the PV region. These are people much more experienced than anyone in this area.
They advocate boxing properly and sending by Roadway Express to Nogales custom house for clearing and will be picked up by one of the movers to PV.
The biggest mistake I have seen people make is trying to bring more than absolutely needed and sits in storage for a long period and finally disposed of. GOOD LUCK! IF any more questions post here.
THANKS!

Talked to one mover out of Harrington, Tx, who said the move would cost about $9,000, and that it wasn't cost effective for most people with just a few rooms, that it was most cost effective with a larger quantity of items to move.
It looked to me, however that my items would cost considerably more to replace in Puerto Vallarta, and their value was closer to $30,000. So I'm leaning toward using a mover.

Turns out I will be using Stom White Movers out of Ajiic. Cost - $7000 for three lift vans (7x7x3.5) each.
of course the US mover and portion is the most expensive.
S/B In PV to recieve the stuff the first week of September.
(Turned out to be 4 lift vans for approx $8400.) They did a great job, we were satisfied.

Just the update of our saga, Furniture in, (a few things only made it to the storage room).
Hope this YouTube link works.

I don't think we'll rent it. Theres too much personal stuff in there, plus we'll be full time by next july, and we'll be down at least once before then also. We may just have a few freinds use it for free in the meantime.
