Getting to the Botanical Gardens

Postby slkarns » Wed Jan 28, 2009 1:50 pm

Hi everyone.

I've read that you can catch a bus to El Tuito at the corners of Carranza and Aguacate to get to the Botanical Gardens. What color is the bus? What should I look for when getting off the bus?

Thanks!

They're kind of whitish most of the time. The thing you look for is "Tuito" in the destination box above the windshield. If you're not sure, just ask the driver, "Botanical Gardens?" You can also ask him that when you find the right bus and he'll let you know when to get off. The stop is after the bus turns away from the coast at Boca, heads up into the mountains and passes through a small village. It's on the right side of the hwy a couple of miles past this village and has a sign. This bus driver is used to people getting off at the Gardens and will probably automatically stop there.

It will be the stop where most of the gringos get off the bus in what looks like the middle of nowhere in the mountains.

On this bus someone comes around to collect the bus fare after you sit down. I think it's 15 pesos one way.
