Superior Tours Vallarta is organizing a 2 day tour to Tepic, the Capital of Nayarit, on October 18-19, 2009. All benefits from this tour will go to a local charity to be named at a future date. (We are working with Pamela Thompson to determine which charity most needs your support.)

This special cultural tour includes:

• Round-trip transportation on a luxury bus with bathroom and air conditioning

• A guided walking tour through Tepic

• A Free concert by Emmy award winner Lila Downs

• 1 night stay in a tourist class hotel in downtown Tepic

• Monday morning American breakfast

• A tour of Tepic's "Barrio Huichol"

• Additional meals and tips are not included

Itinerary:

On Sunday, October 18th we will depart from Puerto Vallarta, with additional pick-ups in Bucerias and Sayulita. By late morning we will arrive in Tepic, where you can participate in a walking tour through downtown Tepic.

That night, you will have the opportunity to see a concert performed by Lila Downs, who wrote the music for the movie Frida about the life of Frida Kahlo. The daughter of an American father and Mexican mother, Lila sings in Spanish, English and Mixteco. She has won an Emmy award and was recently voted for the Top Ten of the 10 best World Music CD's. Monday morning after breakfast, we will visit the Barrio Huichol of Tepic, where you can see how the indigenous people of Tepic live and have the opportunity to buy Huichol art at half the price than you would pay in Puerto Vallarta.

After the Barrio Huichol tour, we will board the bus for the trip back to Puerto Vallarta, arriving at the various Banderas Bay area departure points in the early afternoon.
