Disabled Vet with Chronic Pain

Postby 173airborne » Mon Jul 30, 2012 8:26 pm

I am a younger disabled veteran who has been living with chronic pain for 11yrs now and I recently have moved to the PV area. I am in need of a pain mngmt doc here and was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for a sympathetic, compassionate doctor who understands pain. Thanks in advance!!

Hi 173 Airborne. In the years around PV, I haven't heard of a good pain DOCTOR.
Friends have had Dr Gabriel Varela from Guad. Also an office in the Chapala area. He is a NEUROSURGEON.
He may know someone in PV., as he went to University in Guad. The phone number is 765-6666.
THANKS!

Welcome here, hero. Most doctors don't understand pain management, every body reacts to different analgesics.
Your source, Bernie, has been around PV a long time and is likely a knowledgeable source. I wish you success, living life in pain is something a lot of people/doctors don't understand because it's not a visible malady, generally speaking. You need that kind of help, since you've moved there. I'm sure others in legitimate need like you would benefit if you let them know the outcome thru posting.

Haven't seen a post from you in a long time, Bernie. :D

Hope you are successful in your quest...you should come to the board meetings, I have a feeling you'd fit right in with the group

Thank You Jack! For your kind and gentle approach to the terrible confrontations on the boards.
When I started coming here in the early seventies, there was a refreshing innocence that PV had when you came into this village. I hope it isn't lost to greed, and the self importance many people convey on the different boards.
In the good old days, you would catch up on the latest happenings and build new friendships, that would last, that built
the travel industry and community.
Look forward to seeing you at the coming meetings, as I have been traveling a great deal the past six weeks.

Thanks!

Have you tried acupuncture? Dr Alfred Laggner is an excellent acupuncturist.

173 AIRBORNE:
Have you located a pain management location? I realize the pain as I went through three years of fighting cancer.
I found a Doctor from Guad. who comes to PV and works with one of the best and largest clinics in PV.
In Mexico, I would not consider a Chiropractor or related.
I went to a Doctor in PV for my cancer, and if I listened to him I would be dead.

Thanks!
