$800 USD or mexican peso, very important to specifiy.

I have a mexican dentist here and I really appreciate his work, his skill, and his humor.

Porcelain crown - $1600p
stainless steel crown/inlay - $700p
cleanings - 250p
fillings - 500p
bridge - 5000p

To get a root canal, I need a referral, and the cost will be between 1000-1200p

These figures are ballpark, and they are kind of standard for a dentist who serves Mexicans. So far, I have had no problems with the work I have had done, but then, I trust my dentist, and I tend to think that dentistry for gringos is basically a scam.

I don't know anything about dental implants or bone grafting , but after my dog ate my top plate (long story) I went looking for a dentist to replace my top plate...I asked for a quote from Just Smiles on BB street.. 8000 pesos , went to Vallarta Dental Clinet on BB st...6400 pesos...finely asked a Mexican buddy and he suggested I check with Solu-Dent located at 135 Insurgentes South side , just before the bridge going into Centro , got a quote for 2,500 pesos from a young lady Dentist called Angelico Palomono , very professional , knows what she is doing and after three fittings I get my teeth on Wed... :) :)

And Chico, my understanding is that IMSS does not do things like crowns and bridges and false teeth. Is that correct?

The $800 I mentioned for the crown/tooth on the implant was USD. Sorry for the oversight...

Just a logistical note with respect to Dr. Adan Michel. I had some work done with him in March and intend to have more in July. He told me to e-mail rather than phone because it avoids confusion. The website for Advance Medical Centre is above, and the contact is Marie (her address is the only one on site). She is American and will tell you exactly what you need to do and how much it will cost.

I must say I really like Dr. Michel and I can´t say the same for another place where indeed I felt it was indeed gringo pricing. He is a third generation dentist and long-time Vallartense. I´m sure there are many other goods one too, such as Rabi´s dentist.

Also, for implants, it really is a specialty. I know Dr. Michel has made it a specialty.
