OK, this is most likely only of interest to policy wonks like me, but a story in the Washington Post provides an interesting insight into the composition of the Mexican legislature and future policy implications. The composition of the legislatures is 300 directly elected legislators and 200 who are selected by their respective parties based on proportion of votes received. The so-called "unpresentable ones" include well-connected political family members, TV industry representatives, union officials, and individuals with shaky pasts.
