zip lines

Every question is a good one.

I think newby was/is a tad drunk, too...

I don't mind people being wrong and making mistakes but when they keep pushing their false information here, I have a bit of a problem with it.

Hi Pat...I think both you and the girls will love the set up at Los Veranos: they'll have some super cute guides who, in turn, will love the girls and you and your sis can relax at the restaurant /bar waiting for their return. I found Los veranos somewhat tame compared to costa rica zips, but it was great fun and seemed VERY safe. :D

I doubt if you had real back problems that zip lines would be the right game for you. Zips are thrill rides for teenagers and kind of boring for anyone with any type of athletic background. You won't really see "nature" and you will be so well protected as to think you are in Disneyland.

And to all those who would look beyond the 2 most popularized zips in town (Los Veranos and Vallarta Adventure), they are all good and they all have their pluses and minuses. The only one I ever disliked was El Eden and it is dead (appropriately).

It's hard to judge 'how hard the tour might be on your back' without knowing your back and its limitations.
But I don't recall much climbing if that helps.
You are in a safety harness which has a brake so basically all you do once on-zip is to tag along for the ride: the harness
supports your weight as you basically 'sit' in the harness.

(Big diff from Costa Rica where we had to brake ourselves with much longer, higher zips that went much faster.)

I guess if you took a couple of aspirin or anti inflam before zipping, you'd be fine. I went with my daughter and don't recall having any pains or aches afterward (course, that might have been the tequila!)

The zip line at Chico's involves climbing up at least one hill. I think the girls are going to do Los Veranos while my sister and I chill out at their restaruant at the river. I was just looking at their site and It does say that it goes south along the bay, not toward Las Juntas.
People in life who are the happiest don't have the best of everything...They make the best of everything they have.

Go with the el rio. You start at the top (no climbing) and you work your way down the canyon to the river and then you ride a burrow back up to the bar. Plus (maybe not a plus for you, Pat, but definitely for the kids), they have the longest, fastest runs in town. High quality gear. Plus they are not a gringo operation. This zip is run by the local ejido.

btw. I don't get paid for this recommendation.
