You are so clever how you use quotation marks (charity) when I never used the word, and Ann added "nothing charity about her". This is journalism? You often misquote and make statements that people never made. I have a problem with that, my friend :(

To put it in easier, more understandable terms: I am so very disappointed that you think she deserves to be given business simply because she is "struggling." Give me a break. Everyone in Vallarta is struggling in September. Your condescension and patronization in characterizing her in this way are embarrassing. I get a little angry when I see someone insult her like this. She does not deserve it.

I don't give a fuck about your school days journalism rules. I've been there, done that and saw what a load of crap college level journalism classes were. No truth that isn't half truth, no reality that isn't pleasant or pointed, no offense to the advertisers.... That is all that is taught. The daily output of this generation of students proves this.

My objective here is to promote our board meeting at Crazy Beaches and for some reason you want to get in on this effort and add your patronizing 2 cents worth. Why? Do you really think that trying to get people feel sorry for Karen will help attendance? I don't understand. I'm tired of bullshit.

I give up.

As the owner of a tourist dependent business, I'd like to comment. My business is slow in September. I am well aware of this and budget accordingly. I'm sure Karen does the same. I'm very happy, honored even, when my local customers help me out with a bit of off season promo. Off season can be a fact of life. It doesn't mean your business is struggling. It certainly doesn't mean you are in need of charity. It's part of the ebb and flow of owning a business where tourism is the #1 money maker. Most of us are well aware of this when we form our business plans.

You got it right shortsassybc, Karen has a great place! Guys, quit your damn nit picking over journalism etiquette, enough already, like I said,
"You have good taste and cannot fault you on your spot on determinations of Karen's character! She is one damn hard worker, great cook, great friend and nothing charity about her Rick, you are so right...Would love to spend more time with her and her cantina, but that will be your decision. Enjoy her ambience mi amigos...See you in Jan!" Get over it boys and enjoy Crazy Beaches!

Nice meetup tonight. Lots of people. Very active. We worked the ass off that charity case, Karen, "Mas cerveza, por favor, senorita!"

In order to appease the board censors, I've decided to change my name from Retárdeaux to Morón. Brischa, once again, is the inspiration for this new name. We go up the river to Moro Paraiso every Sunday so she suggested, in the name of board harmony and to give a plug to Moro, that I change my name to Morón. I like it.

I feel now like The Great Appeaser.
My soul is cleansed.

Charity or not, I have to think Karen was happy. At the time we left, only two additional customers had come in who were not in the group. Glad we were able to give her a nice bump on an otherwise very slow evening.

She did do a pretty amazing job keeping up with all of us, almost single handed, except for cooking.

Thanks to all who joined to help celebrate the three birthday boys also!
Jim
