Cheeky Monkey, like a lot of oceanfront restaurants, were hit hard by the storm. CM lost a lot of tiles on the roof; Friday it got painted and tidied up. Oceana Bar had tables being blown onto the Malecon during the storm..No major damage to CM, just roof tiles. Open and terrific as usual. If you haven't tried the pancetta salad, you're missing something great!

Just got back from walking the Malecon, seems to be business as usual at the Cheeky Monkey.

The Cheeky Monkey is open but was closed on Friday. The last storm we experienced in PV on Tuesday night brought with it some very strong winds and a lot of rain. While it may see unfortunate to close for a day during the high season, we felt it was wise to make sure that everything was safe, as the roof suffered damage and some remaining clay tiles were loose. Therefore we did not open for business on February 5th and removed all the tiles on the overhang. We also choose at the time that since we were going to be closed that we had the opportunity to do some additional maintenance (i.e. painting, replace faucets, and install a new ice machine).

I am sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.
Sincerely- Troy Valens

Thanks for setting the record straight, Troy. You run a fine place. I really liked your response to the wine ditz at your parents business, "Taste of Italy. They know how to take care of the customer with quality food. We'll be at the CM our next trip, probably more than once. :D :D
