Los Arbolitos

Postby GillWoods » Sun Sep 09, 2012 6:28 pm

For those of you who remember, the Los Arbolitos restaurant over by the Lazaro Cardenas and the River Caule bridge, close to the Coloso, closed when the owner died falling from the balcony.

The Restaurant is reopening on September 11th (auspicious day).

Looking forward to trying it!!

Hey Rick...... Does your place have any balconies?

Sounded like they were open yesterday. I live close by and I could hear the same ole crooner belting out his tunes. Happy to have them back in the neighborhood.

We ate at Los Arbolitos on Tuesday. We were their first customer (and only customer) at least til 9pm when we left.
The Margaritas were excellent (bartender is ex Si Senor).
The menu includes the Mexican standards, but additionally has a range of steaks and other items.
The owner, Marisa, was for many years at Panorama. -A very personable lady.
Our waiter Eduardo you might recognize from Las Palomas.
I think having a successful restaurant in this location definitely helps the vibe in the neighborhood, I hope they make it.

They used to get by on having good food at good prices, just like everyone else on this side of town except for the red cabbage. Maybe the neighborhood is upscaling?
