Just got back from Croatia, Turkey and Switzerland. It was nice to be thanked for leaving a tip.

When was the last time you were thanked for leaving a tip on this side of the pond?

Maybe you've been hanging out in the wrong bars, Keith. I almost always get thanked for a tip.

Yes I was not referring to bars. Nearly every restaurant in Europe provided the server thanking us when leaving. In Vancouver and PV, the incidence of a server thanking us for a tip when leaving is so rare, I am having trouble recalling a single incident. I know there have been some but they don't stand out.
