Recent events are not stopping us. We are leaving Ab Nov 10 and should cross at Nogales on Nov 14 (spending an extra night in Vegas). We live in a small city of 60,000 In Alberta - headline news this week was a murder suicide of a guy I know from theatre and his new girlfriends ex-husband. Doesn't stop people from driving through Medicine Hat! The world is not safe, life has no guarantees- that being said, I prefer to spend my time where I don't have to shovel the precipitation! 8)

We drove back and forth via Laredo in July (Bridge II), then back out through Piedras Negras to Texas (and ultimately Canada) in early September.

For those travelling through Texas area crossings, my "Bible" (guru, guide) is a guy who lives in Nuevo Laredo, works in Laredo (so is a daily commuter at Bridge II) has inlaws in Monclova, and works as a lawyer for the transportation industry in Texas. He posts on Mexico Connect and really knows the situation so well. Hi screen name is Altahabana. Whenever we travel in border areas I always ask to see if there is something I should know in picking a border crossing at that particular point in time.

Here is a recent discussion advising a person heading to Bucerias via Laredo. I contributed to that thread as did Altahabana. (I am careyeroslib). Hopefully the person asking will report back as to how it all went for them in their trek to Bucerias.

Hope this helps.
