Well, pulling out this morning, meeting friends in Tucson/Nogales for the drive to PV. Hope to have the usual uneventful trip and we'll see some of you in a week or so - R&V

There's been a recent change in the toll road. You used to have to go on the by-pass road around Culiacan. There's a brand new toll booth which leads straight to Mazatlan. There is nothing on this road for about 15-20 miles, then around milemarker 183 you'll find another toll booth and a big truck stop/gas station. If you need gas, buy it here because there's no more till Mazatlan. It's a straight shot....you'll be in Maz in about 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 hours at 75-80 mph.

2 weeks ago, driving in CA, I remembered how smooth the roads are and how easy it was to go fast. You forget, Chico, how it is to have a smooth road. I certainly did.

Those toll roads are fabulous.

Well, the toll roads are fabulous until you're paying the equivalent of 2 cars - that 170 peso toll becomes about 340 ! Oh !, and there'll be no 75-80 mph either if we want to survive - we're towing 3 tons behind. Anyway, we're in 'Vegas, leaving in the morning with a stop somewhere north of Tucson, then on the next day to meet our friends in Nogales Az. Will probably head over the border on Tues and on to San Carlos. I think we'll be stopping in Alamos as well, as our friends know people there. Glad to hear they have filled in the "fuel gap" north of Maz - used to be a bit of a stretch. Keep any info coming and we'll be there soon (if we don't try going 80 !) R&V
